GRABBER ORANGE GORGEOUS Photos and Story by Melody Leverett H.

Thanks for welcoming me in to the club! Below are a few pictures that tell my Mustang story…..

I purchased my first Mustang when I was 18yrs old, a 1970 Grande 302 and it was later our getaway car when my husband and I married. Years later my husband found the 1999 35th Anniversary edition Electric Green V6 convertible and I drove it for several years before buying the 2007 Grabber Orange V6 Premium. My husband has been a career Cabela’s employee and at the time they had a Ford Partnership Program that allowed me the opportunity to order my 07 directly from the factory and have it built the way I wanted. When it was complete, it was shipped to the nearest Ford dealership where I could then take possession. Letting go of the Electric Green 99 was bittersweet, but the thrill of the new Grabber Orange is still exciting every time I start it up!! Because the car was never on a car lot, the window sticker was never affixed and it is framed for display purposes because the line right above the grand total bears my name.

I drive the car, enjoy the car and have 49K miles on it but now I drive it mostly to shows. It was part of the 50th Anniversary of Mustang Display last winter at the World Of Wheels Show here in Omaha where it received a Class Award and I just returned from Loveland, Colorado where I had it entered in the MCA National Show and it received Bronze.
My son took the picture below that has the shovel and fence in front of the front end of the car….. His take on a modern day urban city barn find and it’s my favorite.

I also own a 1978 Mustang ll in Tangerine (a 4 cylinder) and my husband has a 66 Coupe V8 that we show, drive in parades and park for Show And Shines. We’ve been Mustang fans for many many happy miles of driving!!!
